Note: The mosque is an active place of worship and closes to non-worshipping visitors during the five daily prayer times (approximately 60–90 minutes each). Generally open from 08:30 until 20:00–22:00 depending on season. Guided tours offer fast-track access and bypass the standard visitor queue.

  • The tile work is best appreciated in natural light — avoid overcast days if possible
  • View the exterior and six minarets from the Hippodrome for the best perspective
  • Combine with Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern — all three are within walking distance

By Tram

Take the T1 tram to Sultanahmet station. The palace gates are a 5-minute walk from the tram stop.
